Missions

The Killam Baptist Church has always had a strong commitment to Foreign & Home Missions. Some years ago when records were kept on missions giving among our Canadian and U.S. churches, Killam Baptist ranked 7th in per capita giving to missions. One unique way of raising monies is through a two day mammoth garage and auction sale. From this endeavor we support charities such as Missions to Lepers, Samaritan’s Purse, one of our local girls who is a missionary in Bolivia, Bethany Homes for Children, Stars Ambulance, Food Banks, and many more. A good share of our budget goes to Missions both at home and abroad.

In the Fall of each year a special Missions emphasis weekend is held when from one to three guest missionaries speak at both men’s and ladies gatherings. This gives us opportunity to become familiar with their work on the mission field and get to know our missionaries. In the past an International supper has been held on Sunday when food from different countries is served. These fellowship times are much appreciated.

The Youth Group recently went on a short term mission trip to Santa Barbara, Honduras. This trip took place in March-April of 2011. Thank you for all your support. Continue to pray for the youth as God works in their lives @ home.
